How it works


1) Choose your venue – where would you like to paint? At a session, a private event, at home or somewhere else. Follow us to find out where we are planning to be, or get in touch with your dates and we can make a plan

 

2) Choose your shape. Shapes can be selected in advance or purchased in our online shop. Reserving an item ensures that it will be put aside for you. Items paid for in advance will be reserved indefinitely. Its fine to change your mind – we will happy to swap your paid for shape for an equivalent value item/ or upgrade if something shiny catches your eye!


3) Choose your design. Look through our many sample design ideas, or create your own! We recommend having a good look before you come and some of the wonderful ideas out there and we will always be on hand to advise you on how best to achieve it.


4) Get instructed. Painters will always be taken through the basic steps to brilliant ceramic painting. We explain about the process, the paint, understanding how the colours change and tips to get your craft work looking fabulous.


5) Leave it with us! We will fire your ceramic for you, collection or delivery to you is usually within two weeks unless otherwise arranged. We are able to post to within the UK for a small postage cost.


6) Enjoy! Your ceramic if cared for will last you a lifetime and potentially become something very special in yours and your family’s story. We love hearing about these so please do keep sharing

Your guide to painting with us

Fun painting

Get creative and do your own thing! We have standard or fun paints to try out, all the equipment and techniques on hand. These sessions are typically 2 hours long or on a drop in basis. Younger children are likely to complete their pieces faster! These sessions are often busier, but great fun!

Coming soon:

Pre school painting - Plans are afoot to deliver a transition to school focused three or four week course for older toddlers and pre schoolers. These sessions will focus on beginning to bridge the leap between 'messy play' and focused work, introducing the idea of creating a design, sharing paints, washing brushes and thinking about colours. This course is being designed in collaboration with Early Years Professionals and will be beginning this spring

Art Focus

These are generally pre booked sessions with smaller groups, allowing us to really get into the techniques and improve your ceramic painting skills. These are suitible for beginners through to advanced painters, recommended for anybody with the attention span!

Adult Relax

Often evening sessions, aimed to be calmer and more socialble. pairs well with a meze style platter available at some of our venues, and a good glass of wine or a nice coffee. 

Baby and Toddler Printing

'My Little Feet' sessions are run by our resident baby-painter Trina, this is the opportunity to get a great print of your baby or toddler's hand or foot print. The session includes support to complete your design with writing, dates or other details. There is also the option to have a bespoke design created for you to make your keepsake into a masterpeice to treasure. Price for additional design will vary according to detail requested.

Summer Holiday Sessions

Wild Canvas

We’re spending out summer holiday Saturdays at the most chilled out place in Bedfordshire! If you haven’t experienced the Wild Canvas festival style campsite at Turvey House, painting with us is a great excuse to come have a look. A perfect day out, £25 per person to paint with us, book through the Wild Canvas website

Patchwork Mug Workshop at Tudor Rose

Paint your own patchwork style pottery. Have a go at ceramic painting with a patchwork theme mug or pottery animal friend.

A perfect way to get creative together this summer.  Instruction and equipment to make a fun and beautiful design while trying out different ceramic decoration techniques.  Your art work will be fired ready for you to collect from Tudor Rose Patchwork and to be enjoyed over time!
